River Restoration
Friends of the LA River (FoLAR) is working to create an LA River that is a functioning wetlands ecosystem, benefiting both residents and the environment.
Advocacy
FoLAR advocates for policies in and around Los Angeles that will benefit the river and its surrounding habitat, by creating natural green space and “Cracking the Concrete”
Education
Lessons, field trips, and other school activities are provided by FoLAR to LAUSD schools, including a “River Rover”, which provides interactive lessons about the river’s ecosystem, watershed, history, and potential future.
Community
FoLAR holds and attends many events for Los Angelinos, including river cleanups, festivals, river walks, and other educational and cultural occasions.
