Ocean Research, Conservation, and Education
Education
The International SeaKeepers Society aims to provide students around the world with educational resources and experiences in order to promote ocean conservation across future generations. The organization engaged with over 2,000 students and 50 schools in 2023 via their Floating Classrooms programs.
Engagement
SeaKeepers seeks to further ocean conservation by connecting private yacht owners with the oceanic research groups. The yachting community can donate vessels to a variety of programs in exchange for tax benefits and supporting the health of the oceans.
Research
Oceanographic researchers and conservationists can apply to SeaKeepers’ DISCOVERY Yacht Program, providing a cost-effective method to conduct ocean-saving research. The organization has supported over 180 expeditions in its lifetime, including shark tagging, coral reef sampling, and cetacean research.
Citizen Science
The International SeaKeepers Society leads people around the world in engaging with the coastal environment. Whether it’s coordinating beach cleanups or outsourcing oceanic depth measurements, SeaKeepers is a leader in promoting ocean conservation among the general public.
